
Lost In The Open follows Nrvesk, a despotic king who narrowly escapes an assassination ordered by a man he once deemed an ally. As Nrvesk struggles across forests, mountains, and swamps, players will face hundreds of unique encounters, fight and recruit a diverse roster of units, and come to face the sins of Nrvesk’s rule.
My work with Black Voyage Games began in July 2024, several years into Lost In The Open’s development. I was brought onto the project to revamp their existing encounters and develop hundreds of new ones. My responsibilities have since grown, and now I:
- Worldbuild, by developing the lore and characters that make up the world of Lost In The Open
- Content design, by conceptualising new factions, units, items, and other narrative pieces.
- Narrative design, by developing the game’s overarching plot in tandem with the lead developer.
- Copyright, from writing trailer scripts, to in-game UI and tooltips.
